The Position
This role provides you as an Emergency Medicine Specialist, the chance to demonstrate your strong clinical acumen, influence and foster an enthusiastic team of health professionals, review service requirements and execute new models of care. You will be joining a dynamic team and group of Consultants with diverse skills and a common culture of safe patient and staff care. The culture within the Emergency Department is one of collaboration with all staff, including clerks, nurses, juniors doctors and trainees, allied health, radiology, pathology and inpatient teams. The Hospital
You will be working across two facilities, servicing a population of approximately 116,000. The first ED has an annual attendance rate of 27,600 patients with a 28% admission rate. The Department treats a broad range of patients including major trauma and is accredited by ACEM for 12 months advanced training. The other facility has an annual attendance rate of 29,000 with a 17% admission rate, of which half are shorty stay admissions. Transfers to other acute facilities account for 3% of presentations. One is a modern 150-bed hospital and the second has undergone a major refurbishment so you will enjoy new equipment and well-resourced facilities. Essential Criteria
You will hold or be eligible to hold Specialist registration with the Australian Medical Board (AHPRA) with experience from a country with a comparable health care system (NZ, UK, Ireland, Canada or USA).
