As a Career Medical Officer in Intensive Care you will provide support to a 10-bed, private ICU. You will receive fantastic support within the department, with a friendly and patient focused approach. This is a fantastic opportunity to continue developing your expertise in Intensive Care in a relaxed environment where previous experience in Anaesthetics, Intensive Care or Emergency Medicine would be beneficial. You will enjoy above award rates and the flexibility to work a mixture of day and night shifts as well as week and weekend shifts. Day shifts are 11 hours and night shifts are 14 hours.
A commitment of 12 months is required though an ongoing commitment would be preferable.
This private facility has a capacity of over 160 beds, providing acute medical and surgical services. Specialty areas include Orthopaedics, Neurosurgery, Urology, Neurology, General Surgery, Vascular Surgery, Paediatrics, Interventional Radiology, Cardiac Surgery, Coronary Care Unit, Intensive Care Unit, Cardiac Catheter Laboratory, Endoscopy, Urodynamics, Sleep Disorders and Traumatic Recovery Centre, Allied Health Services, Rehabilitation Unit and an Emergency Department.

You will hold current registration with AHPRA and 3 years of post-graduate experience including 3 months in Anaesthesia and 6 months in ICU and/or ED. To be successful, you must be skilled in airway management (including bag/valve/mask ventilation, endotracheal intubation and LMA placement) and demonstrate skill in the placement of arterial lines and central venous catheters. You must hold current ACLD and PALS/APLS certification.
