The position to commence from August 2019 either to end of 2019 medical year or 2020 medical year with specific terms to be filled in general rotations, therefore, not all rotations are available for offer.

Position holders will be required to participate in the after hours roster, and undertake a nights relief term as part of their rotation. There are 3 remaining terms of 10 or 11 weeks duration. The successful applicant must assume he/she will be seconded to Canterbury or Broken Hill Hospital, which provides excellent training in general medicine as well as good preparation for physician training.

Concord Repatriation General Hospital is a principal referral facility and a teaching hospital of the University of Sydney. We offer a comprehensive range of specialty and sub-specialty services, many recognised nationally and internationally as centres of excellence. Major services provided include colorectal and laparoscopic surgery, gastroenterology, geriatrics and rehabilitation medicine, bone and joint services, cancer services, haematology, respiratory medicine and sleep studies, molecular biology and genetics, and those provided through the internationally acknowledged Statewide Burns Service, in which Concord plays a major part.
1: MBBS or equivalent, currently registered with the Medical Board of Australia.
2: Completion of at least one postgraduate year working as a medical officer in a clinical environment by the end of the 2018 medical year.
3: Must have at least 12 months experience working as a remunerated medical officer in the Australian Health Care System or close equivalent by the end of the current medical year, with proven recent clinical ward experience .
4: Demonstrated excellent communication skills (verbal and written), computer skills and experience using an electronic medical record system.
5: Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team within a supervised complex clinical environment utilising excellent clinical skills (at the required level of competency), judgment, expertise, time management, problem solving and organisational skills.
6: Demonstrated a professional attitude and flexibility in work role with a preparedness and ability to participate in after-hours overtime and on-call rosters. Training and experience in Advanced Life Support is an advantage.
7: Demonstrated interest to work in the Concord Hospital network including familiarity with Concord Hospital Services and willingness to be seconded to Broken Hill.
8: Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management.
